We’ve got salt for Africa.

Salt Company was established in 1936, operating salt pans where the Namib Desert dunes reach right to the edge of the Atlantic’s surf, leaving a stark yet beautiful landscape, that we have built our business of producing quality salt, operating a refinery, and marketing our products, including coarse salt, fine salt and table salt, into various African countries.

Over the past 84 years, we have proudly established ourselves as a Namibian-owned company proven to produce quality salt, distributed across the African continent. Our salt pans are situated just north of Swakopmund, on the strikingly beautiful Atlantic coast of Namibia. This area is registered as a nature reserve and bird sanctuary and has become a popular habitat for thousands of flamingos, cormorants, sea gulls, damara terns and even pelicans.

Our salt pans have a production capacity of approximately 120 000 tons of salt per year, and we can load up to 400 tons of salt per day.

At Salt Company, we value quality above all else, and for this reason our salt undergoes regular quality tests from independent laboratories in both Namibia and South Africa. Only the absolute best will carry our name. We are proud to supply companies across Africa with our quality products, including leading businesses in various African countries like Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa. While these are the main markets that we currently supply, we do occasionally supply salt to other African countries.
