At Salt Company, we pride ourselves in producing quality coarse salt, fine salt, and table salt, measured to the very highest standards.
Our finished product is packaged in polypropylene bags of 20 kg, 50 kg, and 1,000 kg, allowing for bulk supply. We further offer our clients unique containerisation options, with the added benefit of personalised printed packaging according to each client’s individual specifications.
Our table salt and fine salt products are packaged in 500 g and 1 kg plastic bags, packed in baler bags of 20 kg for bulk supply.
We produce the following types of salt:

We iodise our salt to each client’s unique specifications, and in accordance with the UNICEF regulations (KIO3).

The Importance of Iodated Salt
Iodine deficiency remains the single greatest cause of preventable brain damage and intellectual disability worldwide. The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimated in 1990 that 1,570 million people (30% of the world population) were at risk of Iodine Deficiency (IDD). Insufficient iodine intake during pregnancy and early childhood results in the impaired mental development of young children. Even marginal deficiency may reduce a child’s mental development by 10%.
The goal for the year 2000 had been that at least 90% of edible salt consumed should be adequately iodated, including salt used for animals and salt used in the preparation of commonly eaten staple foods such as bread. Through the efforts of national government, WHO, UNICEF, the International Council for the Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders, and the salt industry, and with the support of bilateral development agencies, the financial resources required to achieve universal salt iodisation (USI) have now been mobilised.
